The web just got better - Mozilla Firefox 3 released!
By ryan | June 25, 2008
Wow! I must say, I love the new Firefox. Its amazing three years have gone by, but they have definitely outdone themselves here. The official release was on June 18th, 2008. The look… a little IEesque, but still has that gnome/Mozilla touch. The new address bar is absolutely amazing! It learns what you want to look for very quickly and really helps speed up browsing/searching the web. As you search and browse more, the address bar/smart bar learns to be more detailed and more specific. Now I know why its called the “Awesome Bar“. Some other neat features are:
- Built-in download pause/resume; even after closing and reopening FF.
- Better organization of Bookmark, history, and tags via Firefox 3’s library that archives the information
- Full page zoom - allows you to zoom into an area (like the iphone… can wait for someone to try and port this to WM6)
- Added Security (of course)
- Customization (of course :-) )
I’ll tell you, I’ve used Firefox since it originally came out a few years back, and it’s going to be hard to use anything other than it for the following years. It truly does make browsing/being a part of the web much better.
