Default Passwords for Almost any Router

By ryan | July 13, 2007

I’ve been bouncing around the net and stumbled upon this gem. A single web page that has passwords for hundreds of different router models ranging from 3COM to Apple to Linksys to Cisco.

This will come in handy say, you need to reset your router and reconfigure it. Beware! though. This can be just as handy for all those menacing others lurking around.

More people than you think leave their routers with the default password set. Not good. Especially because of the newly becoming popular “drive-by pharming”, where the attacker gains access to a router and then makes DNS changes. This allows the attacker to set, lets say www.google.com to something other than its actual IP address, taking you to a different site, which could look just like google, and can be stealing all of your information.

Let this be a reminder to change that pronto and protect yourself from some shady stuff. Here is the Default Password List
